Enjoy the little things

- Last night at the climbing gym I climbed a boulder problem that I didn't ever think I would be able to climb... LOVED it.

-Dave and I are starting a new exercise regimen and I am super excited about it.
We even ran together this week... we have never done that, weird I know.

-My parents and I laid out by the pool in the 80 degree weather and I got my first swim suit line of the year... I could really get used to Florida's winter.

-I found an adorable used desk and comfy office chair on craiglist for $65 for both ... now that I work from home, I really needed these!

-I decorated our little apartment with a little bit of crafty Valentine's Day decor.

-We are the cub scout leaders for the scouts in our area and I haven't be able to go because of work but I got to go this week and it was so fun to watch Dave with those boys, they adore him!

-My sister sent me audio of her sweet baby boy laughing... only my favorite sound in the world!

-I got the best phone call last night from my best friend, I love it when her name appears on my phone :)

-Tomorrow is Saturday and Dave doesn't have homework!
Best news ever!

Happy LOVE month!

Enjoy the little things.

- I love holidays. MLK day was a fabulous extra day to the weekend. I even convinced Dave to go shopping with me :)

- I have had leftover ice cream cake almost everyday this week... LOVE it.

- We picked up my parents Wednesday night at the Jacksonville Airport... they are having a vacay here for the next 5 days!

- Hugs are always the best when you haven't seen each other for a while... nothing is better.

- There was freezing rain in Utah yesterday and I sat by the pool in Florida! Lovin' my Floridian January.

- Dave's paper he was stressed about got extended 5 days... wooohooo!

- I spent the entire day yesterday with my parents, just me and them. It was the BEST!

- Gainesville is starting to feel more like me 'temporary' home instead of a vacation spot. I love it.

- I am spending my Saturday at the beach, yipee!

It is the little things that make life so good to me.
Happy Friday!

The day I became smart again.

Well friends, the day has finally come.
My husband and I decided to bump up in the world.
We bought smart phones.
Well, we had smart phones before but now we have data plans.
Yep, we know it is 2013.
Now that we have made the plunge, we will NEVER go back!

We both got the brand new Galaxy S III.
Can I just say... we are in LOVE.
I had NO idea how many amazing things phones can do these days.
Make fun of me all you want but I really do think it is super cool.

We debated about getting the iphone for a long time...
I have multiple apple products but we are on tmobile and they don't carry the iphone.
However, I am so happy we went with the Galaxy.
The screen is way bigger.
And even after using apple products all the time, I think the Android system is easier.

There you have it.
Make sure you are following me with various social medias ---->
Because I am all over the place :)

Enjoy the little things.

Life has been so good to me lately.
I haven't done 'weekly' post in a while so I want to share some little things as of lately:

-Started my fabulous new job working from home with BambooHR, all thanks to this lovely woman!

-I enjoyed lots of love from so many people we miss so much while we were in Salt Lake City visiting.

-We scored a fabulous surprise while we were at the airport on our way home last week... let's just say this Summer's trip home will be free of charge!

-I made the most adorable little Valentine's gift for my husband this week... you can enter to win your own for free :)

-I finally finished our scrapbook for 2013, it is on it's way in the mail. I cannot wait to see it!

-My parents are coming to visit me in less than two weeks! WAHOOO!

-It is a horrible snowstorm in Salt Lake City, Utah but it is 75 degrees here in Florida :)

-Dave got a 4.0 GPA for his first semester of graduate school. He has been working so hard and I am so proud of him!

Don't forget to stop and enjoy the little things.
life is good.

That time I won the Lottery.

In case you didn't know,
I was visiting my family in Utah for the last two and a half weeks.
We were supposed to hop on our flight home yesterday morning around 945 am.
I hate flying. fyi.
We were sitting there waiting to board when the Delta representative announces
that our flight is overbooked and they need two people to go on the later flight.
They mentioned some positives to taking this opportunity.
I hurry over to the counter to find out what the perks were:
$800 flight credit on Delta, between the two of us
$60 meal credit for food in the airport
AND
First class seats on the direct flight that night at 5 pm

YES!
I hurried and got the okay from Dave and we signed right up!
We left the gate on Cloud 9,
grabbed a jamba juice on Delta's dime
and spent the day with our families.

This may not seem appealing to some people
but we felt like we won the lottery!
Plus, flying first class is a piece of cake...
I could get used to that.

After a delayed flight, we made it safe and sound to our Apartment at 4 am.
So yes, I woke up at noon today.
More on our trip home to come...

Two Year Anniversary Celebrations

Photobucket

We had a fabulous, low-key, two year anniversary last week.
We are saving up for our week long celebration in March but that is still a secret...
so we decided to do a simple celebration on the 27th of December.
As I was telling one of my friends about our celebration, I noticed a common theme:

I was at my parents house and Dave picked me up with two dozen roses.
We went to the dollar movie theater and watched Taken two.
We went to two of my favorite places to shop, the Rack and City Creek.
I bought two things at every store I went to.
(I love having Christmas money to spend)
We went to our favorite Salt Lake Restaurant, The Blue Iguana
and we each ordered Two Chicken Enchiladas Verdes.
Then we went to our favorite Frozen Yogurt spot, Top it
and we got two bowls of frozen yogurt.
We ended the night cuddling by the fire, watching The Odd Life of Timothy Green
Just the TWO of us.

Did you notice the common theme of TWO?
Kind of silly but it was our two year anniversary and all.
It was a treat to spend the night together reminiscing our wedding
and the story of how we fell in love.

What is your favorite thing to do to celebrate your anniversary?

Part-Time Mommy.

Okay. I know being a nanny is not even close
to the same thing as being a mother.
BUT. sometimes I feel like a part-time mommy.
It is definitely preparing me for motherhood someday.
I thought I would share with you...

5 things I have learned as a nanny

1. When you are eating, it is no longer for your own enjoyment. You basically
shove the food down as fast as you can before the kids need you again.

2. Nap time is the greatest treasure and I do anything to prevent
noise from happening while they are sleeping.
A good nap makes for a good afternoon ahead.

3. Being a nanny is also like being a maid.
You basically are nonstop cleaning all day long-
whether it be toys, poopy diapers, food all over their face.. it is all the same.

4. A breath of fresh air is so important when you are home all day with kids.
Get out and take the kids for a walk, it is good for your sanity!

5. Nothing is better than baby giggles.
Seriously, I try to make them laugh all day long.

seriously though.
I love little kiddies.
And I really enjoy being a nanny to two adorable babes.

Enjoy the Little Things {4}

- This week I tried two new recipes and they both turned out fabulous. --  salsa chicken and pretzel chicken.

-My sister called me today just so I could hear my sweet baby nephew giggle.

-I had a fabulous follow up interview for an exciting job opportunity. It just felt so right. Crossing my fingers.

-Finally figuring out blog social media buttons. {blogging nerd}

-Talking to my mom at night and having her tell me 'sweet dreams' when she says good bye. I miss that so much. She would literally say that to me every night before bed.

-Dave turned to me tonight and said 'I have changed my mind, I want to have 1 daughter and 3 sons instead of 4 sons.' I asked him why and he said 'I want to have a little girl that will cuddle with me.' Umm. Isn't that adorable?

-Getting a text from Dave saying we got Front Row tickets for the big game this weekend!

-Listening to our sweet primary children sing in the program on Sunday. Okay, they really are sweet but they are exhausting.

-Almost finishing a v5 in the cave at the climbing gym. [love me some climbing lingo]

Enjoy the little things.

My mom is the most incredible woman. I could go on for hours about how much I look up to her and how truly amazing she is! I love her so much. Today I thought I would share something she taught me from a young age.

Enjoy the little things in life
because it is the little things
 that make life worth living.

She is always reminding me of this. Every time I go over to her house she would ask me if I noticed the most recently bloomed flower or she would ask if I noticed the beautiful color leaves on the mountain. Most of the things she would talk about involved the beauty of the earth, which she most definitely gained an appreciation for because of her Father. She always takes time to enjoy the little things.

Here is a small list of the little things I enjoyed this week:

-Lots of giggles from the two kiddies I nanny.

-Dave forgetting to leave the frozen chicken out to defrost before dinner, resulted in going out for dinner.

-New friends inviting us out for dinner this weekend.

-Catching up with everyone of my siblings and both my parents this week.

-A professor from Dave's department inviting us over for an incredible dinner last night, along with a few other students in the department. (Everyone is so nice here!)

-Making snickerdoodles late Sunday evening because my husband loves sweets as much as I do.

-The annual General Relief Society meeting for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is on Saturday and I am so excited to go and get a spiritual pick me up from the most amazing leaders! Learn more here.

-Giggling with my husband before bed.

-Winning my first blog giveaway!! Check it out here.

-Singing as loud as possible with my hubby to MJ

-Getting done with nannying at 530 today and knowing I don't have to leave Dave's side again until Monday morning :)

(because i love pictures and i think every post needs a photo
and his kisses are definitely one of the little things I enjoy each day!)

It really is the little things that make life worth living. Thanks mom for always teaching me this.
