Weekend Recap & A Delicious Recipe!

Our weekend started off with Dave planning Friday night date night. I love it when he plans the date! We went to Chuy's for mexican food- never heard of it? Amazing! Then we went to the climbing gym and it was super fun! I usually don't dig the gym for date nights because we go all the time but I made some serious progress and I am stoked! We finished the night with delicious icecream from Sweet Dreams- they make all of their ice cream there and it is AMAZING!

Saturday we went on a 15ish mile bike ride along a beautiful bike path we found. It was gorgeous! The entire path is lined with trees so it is like you are in a tunnel of trees. I saw a pine tree and for a minute I thought I was in those Utah mountains that I love.
This was taken on Dave's old phone... doesn't it look like it is from the 80's? haha maybe it is just me.

After our bike ride, Dave wanted to go hit a buckle of golf balls at the University course.  He is just starting to love golf. He is amazingly good at it!

When I came home and checked the mail, I had received giveaway number 2! Wahoo! It was a fabulous handmade key chain of a photo of Dave and I at our wedding. And a $10 starbucks card... hot chocolate here I come!
Thank you Jen, I love it!

Sunday's are always my favorite.  We are in primary and the primary program was today so that was a hoot to say the least. In celebration of my Grandpa's Birthday we made homemade Rocky Road ice cream. Can you tell we like ice cream over here? It was amazing! Here is the recipe:

Homemade Rocky Road Ice Cream

Combine all of the following in a blender:
1/2 cup cocoa
1 cup heavy cream
2 cups half and half
14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
blend.
Pour mixture into ice cream maker.
About half way through freezing process add:
slivered almonds (or nuts of choice)
and marshmallows.

makes 5-8 servings
(depending on your love of ice cream)

Enjoy!

  16. A couple of things. First, CHUY'S? That's all. (It's amazing, wonderful, etc) Second, rocky road ice cream? Yummmm. I also just saw a commercial over here in the UK of an ice cream company really putting road bits in the ice cream. Which is one of the many, many horrible commercials over here. Had to share!
