Recording memories.

I used to be so good at journaling...
before I got married.
For some reason I just haven't been to excited about it since out wedding.
I have a family journal for all the big things that happen in our little family
but I have been slacking on a personal journal.

Last July for my birthday, my dearest friend got me the perfect journal!

Have you ever heard of a five year journal?
Each page is a date and has five different spots for the five years you have it.
Each entry only has 5 lines so it is just enough room for a brief thought or experience I had that day.
It is PERFECT for me.
I love having a way to record my daily life but it only takes a minute to do it.

How do you keep a journal?

  11. That's awesome, do you know where she got it? I want one! I used to be great at keeping at a journal and just fell out of the habit somehow. I started the blog to fill the gap of recording our lives! So seriously, if I can find out where that journal is from I want one!

  12. I have written about this five day journal, too! Except, for me, it was kind of stressful. The first year was a struggle, the second year was more fun (because I could see everything I did on that day, last year), but somewhere between getting married and...getting married, I stopped. What is it about getting married that makes us want to journal less? Maybe being married? I'll stop now. It's too early.

  13. This really is a fantastic idea. Sometimes I think, well I don't have time to write a few pages, but a few lines would be perfect!

  14. Oh wow, that actually is an amazing idea. Have you heard of Timehop Abe for facebook? It's a similar (but different) concept where it sends you an email telling you of anything you did on facebook the year previously (i.e. photos, status updates). I love seeing what I was up to the year before :)

  15. I admire people that are consistent and have a diary. I've tried several times and failed miserably. I guess I can think of my blog as a journal because I'm pretty consistent with it LOL Hope you can carry on with this idea for a long time xx

  16. My blog has kind of turned into my journal, I guess. But, there is something romantic about picking up a pen and pretty journal and just writing the old fashioned way.
